Lucida held its launch event on Thursday 17 January 2008 at the Porsche Centre, Mayfair.

Even though it was rainy January evening, 155 guests enjoyed the stylish event hosted by Lucida’s three founders Jonathan Bloomer, David Clinton and Chris Wales. Guests were entertained with anecdotes about wine and cars by celebrities James May and Oz Clarke, who mingled with the crowd throughout the whole evening.

Special guest was Sean Casey, Finance Director of Bank of Ireland Life with whom Lucida had just signed a deal to reinsure a significant proportion of Bank of Ireland Life’s annuity business.

Wines for the evening were specially selected by Oz Clarke who guided guests through an informal tasting in his inimitable style.

All guests received a goodie bag containing dual-signed copies of James May’s 20th Century and Oz Clarke’s Wine Guide.

There was a free prize draw of a Porsche Racing Day and this was won by J Lobek of Guy Carpenter.
